TrueLove @ Neverland: A Husky Lover’s Paradise

Without a doubt, Siberian Huskies are my favorite dog breed. This is most likely due to growing up with a very mischievous husky that despite his many episodic antics, gave me and my family 13 years of unconditional love and unforgettable memories.

Imagine my surprise to hear that there was a cafe in Thailand where you can play with more than 15 Siberian Huskies(!!)

The cafe, titled “TrueLove @ Neverland” is located quite a ways from the busier center of Bangkok. Trevor and I took a Grab (Uber equivalent in Thailand) there and were greeted by the sounds of the characteristic husky howls and yodels coming from the play area. Before entering, the cafe goes to appropriate measures to ensure the safety of the doggos by providing a detailed list of rules and overall making sure that you, as the guest, can understand and adhere to them. Admission fee is 500 baht per person (about 1800 yen or around $16-17 USD).

There are two play time slots in a day (one around 1-2pm, the other around 3-4pm). Prior to play time we rested along with the other guests inside the cafe and ordered our complimentary drinks. We were given a drink menu but I think there is an option to buy some cake too from a different menu. Given the weather of the time we went (mid July) the drinks were amazingly refreshing and thirst-quenching. I really enjoyed the iced lemon tea because it was much sweeter than what I am used to in Japan. We were also shown a short (and very cute) video of an introduction of the dogs with a further explanation of what you can and can’t do during play time. The video was adorable and good reminder for everyone to remember to respect the pups.

I found the play area to be larger than I expected, and the dogs (huskies, sheepdogs, and what looked to be a Maltese?) were free to roam around and interact with everyone. I personally thought while it did seem like there were a lot of people, the staff did an excellent job at separating some of the dogs who are too shy. I also noticed that the play area was almost entirely protected in shade and the dogs were always given fresh water and ice- essential for dreaded summer heat. It’s obviously not the ideal environment for dogs that thrive in the cold like huskies, but I really appreciated the effort put into making sure that these dogs were as comfortable as possible.

You can also stand in line to take pictures with some of the more energetic huskies! When we entered the play area we noticed people heading straight away to do that. Although we were more concerned about just chilling with the doggos, we were encouraged by staff to get our pictures done with the huskies towards the end of play time.

Note that they decided to put two huskies on Trevor’s non-dominant arm LOL

There are plenty of videos online that show this, but at the end of play time, all of the dogs run back home eagerly! Take a look when you can, the slow speeds are great.

This was a fun cafe to visit in Thailand! Highly recommend for any dog lover 🙂

Side note: Some reviews on Google are upset at the fact that only those above 15 years of age can play with the dogs. I think this is a perfectly reasonable rule. The owner states in a clear and visible note even before you enter the cafe that these dogs are very special to them and their family, and it’s clear that they want to make sure that both dogs and guests can be safe.
